Rachel's favorite college professor had a failed breastfeeding experience due to lack of proper breastfeeding support. Her professor openly shared her struggles. After graduating with her B.S. in Foods and Nutrition, Rachel went on to start her lactation internship.

Three years later, Rachel struggled with breastfeeding her first child, who did not latch until 6 weeks old. Through this she experienced a roller coaster of emotions. Anxiety and failure played a huge role. Once Rachel and her babe were on the mend, she felt empowered knowing that once back to work she could truly connect with parents experiencing these same emotions. Rachel has loved being able to nurse both of her sons past the age of two. Breastfeeding has not only nourished her children, but has given each of them an everlasting bond, allowing them to feel calm and secure.

Rachel is married to her high school sweet heart, and they are happily raising their two sons in Loudoun County. When not working Rachel enjoys gardening, painting, and baking pretzels.
